To provide care tailored to the needs and abilities of children at different stages of development and age appropriate activities Warwick Early Learning Centre is divided into five modern and air-conditioned indoor classrooms.
Baby Bunnies caters for children from 6 weeks to 2 years and allows children to begin to feel a sense of belonging at this young age. The room has been designed to allow children to begin to explore and develop. The Educators work closely with families in the early years to best care for the individual child and their family's routines. A full nappy service is provided.
In the Little Ducklings room the children continue to learn and develop from the ages of 15 months to 2.5 years. Self-help, problem solving, toilet training, creativity and language are promoted. Routines are adapted to the children in the group and achievements are celebrated as a group and with families.
Chirping Chicks is for children aged from 2 to 3 years and focuses on them starting to interact socially and advance their cognitive development. Numbers, shapes and name recognition learning begins and the room set-up is changed regularly with various activities to allow the children's imaginations to run wild.
In the Letter Lambs room the children aged from 3 to 4 years begin to prepare the children for their schooling with writing development. Self-help activities are implemented on a daily basis. Children are starting to learn about the world around them and are becoming very inquisitive. The Educators scaffold the child's learning to their emerging interests.
Our Kindergarten is located in a separate building to the rest of the child care centre and has its own playground. The Kindergarten room runs a QLD Government approved Kindergarten Program for children aged 4 to 5 years, preparing them for school. The Kindergarten program runs from 8.30am to 4.00pm each day and the program is guided by the children's interest and focuses on developing their skills. An interactive whiteboard features in the room to enhance the visual learning aspects of the program.
Our centre has several separate outdoor play areas to provide the children with fun and age appropriate outdoor activities.
The Kindergarten playground has natural grass areas to allow running and ball play, and climbing equipment featured within a soft-fall surface for safety. Within the Kindergarten we promote sustainability and have a vegetable garden and compost with a scarecrow the children created.
The 2 to 4 years playground has plenty of shaded areas to allow for sun-protection. A boat and bus have been made from natural materials allowing for imagination development in the playground. There is a paved bike track and several planter boxes featured to allow the children to interact with nature.
The little kid's playground for the 0 to 2 year olds is well shaded and designed to allow sufficient supervision for the age group with age appropriate play equipment. The children are able to see the children in the other playgrounds if they have siblings.
